  1. Wow, those look sexy…

I really enjoy all your TiVO posts, considering I have a TiVO and like to record information from its hard disk onto my VPNs hard disk then stream them to the laptop while I’m on the road. Or am I getting a little ahead of myself? ;)

  2. My favorite post is your one about the MS Origami having Slingbox, reading that post made me re-consider my thoughts on the Origami, and now I actually support it, rather than thinking it was just another Microsoft failure.

Oh yeah, and if I win (which given my luck, I doubt I will), than this will be my new favorite post. It would be my new favorite post because, well, I would have a free pair of Altec Lansing Headphones, and now my parents could stop yelling at me for having the sound too high :)

TiVo Launches Product Watch: Commercials On Demand

I think this is a great idea. Maybe it will lead companies to produce commercials that people want to see because they are entertaining and not just ones that are loud and annoying to grab your attention.
P.S I would love a set of wireless headphones :)

  4. I like this post, one of your latest:

The media center PC concept suffers from all sorts of problems: Microsoft; no tuners in most of the boxes; old models won’t be upgradable to use CableCard; Microsoft; PCs are large, noisy, and suck power; did I mention Microsoft? Anyway, now Dell can be added to the list of things that are part of the problem, not the solution.

It’s a good-looking machine, though. I’m sure it will find its way into any number of photo shoots.

This piece about TiVo spam is probably my favorite. Mainly because, as a TiVo fanboy, I was irriated with your labeling it as spam. But now, as I’ve signed up for it and subsequently disabled it, I have to say I agree with you 100%.

I wouldn’t be opposed to TiVo setting up a sub menu where I could access subscribed adverts…but I don’t need my Now Playing list filled up with them.

You are right…it looks an awful lot like spam.

  6. I would love a pair of wireless headphones. This is my favorite post. https://zatznotfunny.com/2006-05/tivo-wireless-adapter-deals/

I knew TiVo had a branded wireless adadpter but didn’t realize (until I saw it here) that they had a wireless G adapter. Now if I can only get one TiVo referral I’ll have enough rewards points to get it from the TiVo store. Thanks for all the news you cover Dave.

  7. I can’t remember how long I’ve been reading your website or where I discovered it (Thomas Hawk’s site link perhaps). Anyway, like the Geico gecko, you just saved me a ton of money by not purchasing the Dell XPS M2010. Thank you for your inside scoop. I have been waiting but now I’ll look for an alternative, Vista-capable PC. The digital media posts are very insightful. Good stuff on Netflix as I am an avid user and my queue exceeds 100 titles. Thanks for the website, keep it up and select me for the grand prize!

  8. Ok so I enjoy the “stuff Dave didnt cover” part of your posts most of all – cause that has great tidbits of info you dont ordinarilly find!

    Great Site as always D!!

  9. OK. Face it, like everybody else, I like free stuff. I particularly like free stuff that I really need for my wife. She watches bad tv shows without any PVR technology on her laptop while working out at night at home. She wears headphones because we have a young child in the house and doesn’t want to wake the kid up. I’m afraid one day she will fall and strangle herself and Sony will not want to pay damages (Sony headphones circa 1988). So just in case https://zatznotfunny.com/2006-06/altec-lansing-wireless-headphones-giveaway/

OK. I was too lazy to find a post I liked, but I read it all of the time and like them all.

  10. Those headphones look nice.

I’d have to say my favorite ZNF post was your TiVo Wireless Adapter review as your reported performance numbers spurred me into purchasing one for my 540. I’ve been thrilled with the speed increase over my old Linksys wireless adapter (right up until I got a new S2 DT and temporarily wired it to my network and saw what transfer speeds I could get that way!).

Thanks for all the great information Dave!

  11. Anything 900MHz rules, I want nothing interfering with my wifi. I wish my old 900MHz phone wasn’t dead. I’m totally gonna make a msn space 900mhzfan. It would be AWESOM-O to win these headphone.

    ;-)

  12. Cause payback on Ebay scammers is priceless! lol
Seriously though… All the info you provided re: the Slingbox is awesome. I decided to buy one based on your updates!

    Cheers DZ!!!
