The upcoming Wyze Bulb Cam Pro builds upon its predecessor with remote pan & tilt and then some, taking Wyze’s unique camera+light combo to the next level.
Wyze is known for clever solutions at economical prices … along with questionable security and support. As such, the sole product I recommend and use these days is the original Wyze Bulb Cam — as it multitasks as a deck light while meeting my requirements for minimal clutter, broad coverage, and non-battery-powered surveillance. And while its coverage is good, the manually positioned lens is effectively fixed in place. The Pro variant changes that: you can pan and tilt on the fly from the Wyze app, as well as configure waypoints for programmed rotation, as with other Wyze variants. It’s not yet clear if auto-tracking is included, but that’d be the pinnacle of motorized pan and tilt capabilities.
The original Wyze Bulb Cam can be linked to an optional bulb accessory — useful if you have a matching pair of entry fixtures in need of synchronized lighting. However, details embedded within the current Wyze app indicate that the enhanced Wyze Bulb Cam Pro will pair with a standard Wyze Bulb Color — potentially suggesting that the Pro’s integrated lighting could also support millions of colors for more creative illumination.
I originally caught wind of the alternately named Wyze Bulb Cam Pan back in June, and now I suspect we are nearing launch.
