Info on unidentified digital media receiver has come across my desk. Could it be Amazon? Model CL1130, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth remote. Hm!

Does it include the cinnamon smell generator chip?

I saw that… and mostly ruled it out due to the missing wireless capabilities and that it doesn’t look to be a new product.

Says Netflix and Hulu Plus and likely DIAL. No YouTube of course (its a fork) but if it has DIAL it can do YouTube that way anyway.
I see Amazon just announced an increase to $99 for Prime. I got an email today saying that I will be charged $79 next week, and in 2015 it will go up to $99. So unless they unbundle streaming this might be my last year with Prime membership
My renewal is up in October and I’m on the hook for $99 in 2014. But my wife and mom wouldn’t let me quit even if I wanted to…
Is Prime really worth it? In a lot of states, you have to pay sales tax now and if you comparison shop Amazon their pricing has gotten a lot less competitive over time. I’d just as well go to Costco and get their awesome return policy.
I pay for both Costco and Amazon… there’s some overlap for me, but not a whole lot. Amazon Prime is more about convenience, in conjunction with a much larger inventory than Costco, I’d say. Also, I just finished four seasons of The Good Wife on Amazon Instant/Prime – that has some value. The Kindle lending club hasn’t been as interesting or useful.
I was googling for Harman Kardon gear at CES 2014 and the below link came back:
Dave you could always do the trick others are doing to lock in the $79.99 for one more year. Turn off auto-renewal and buy a Prime Gift Membership. I believe you can even pick the date it is delivered so you get the code the day before your Prime expires.
Slickdeals has a thread on it.
