The TiVo Bottle & Blanket Giveaway

tivo-fleece

As ardent fans know, TiVo had a quiet 2010 CES in the public eye — forgoing major announcements in favor of private briefings. Including a productive one of my own. And while it’s not yet time to blog what I’ve learned, I didn’t leave Vegas empty handed. One lucky ZNF reader will receive the TiVo fleece blanket and stainless steel water bottle shown above. Entering the giveaway is as easy as it gets, simply leave a comment below. (US residents in the lower 48 only, please.) I’ll choose the winner at random in a few days.

  1. With the 10 or so Tivos I’ve bought over the years the best thing I’ve ever gotten was a window sticker..

  2. Your Tivo comments are always present on my Bloglines, thank you for the interest. I have four Tivos running in my home, two are linked to one remote and one TV, the only live TV, I watch is the 10 p.m. news. I am 69 years old and wish I could see what Tivo will bring in the next 25 years, I don’t think we can even guess!!

  3. Looking forward to hearing what may be coming but I’m still very happy with the 2 Series 3 units that we have.

    Scott

  4. /waves hands in air… /jumps around foolishly.. a desperate ploy to be chosen… its really kinda sad when you think of it.

  5. Is the photo of you with the 3D glasses in front of the TiVo logo a clue as to what you learned about in your private briefing? Or am I just reading into things a little too much?

  6. Nice floor tiles. Is that your bathroom floor and is it clean? Don’t pick me, firstly because I’m in Scotland and secondly because I mocked your floorcoverings. Good tech coverage though, keep up the excellent work.

  7. That towel and water bottle sure would be nice to have. the blanket since its like 10 here. the water bottle to pour various liquids in to help warm me up the rest of the way.. :)

  8. Gosh, I could sure use that blanket; it’s mighty cold these days. Plus, I’m hoping TiVo will finally get around to announcing a Series 4?!?!?

  9. Just what I need for all that time away from home. Picture of the family and a Tivo towel. Got all my loved ones covered.

  10. Spill the guts, Dave – we want to know everything, well at the least the swag is nice! Hope to come to Shmoocon in Feb!

  11. Chances of wining…..zero

    Cost to enter contest….zero

Hope of news about new tivos….zero

But please put me in the running for the warm blanket and bottle….

  12. I can’t wait to hear what Tivo had to tell you! I hope they were also looking around at all the other media center experiences, mediaroom 2.0, boxee, and learning something about innovation, freshness, a whole new UI and user experience. Getting content onto the screen, from who cares where, just get it there in a nice HD interfaced which is organized, quick, and fully featured.

  13. I have two hr10-250’s – one died last week and the other is sputtering more here and there. I was -so- hoping to hear tell of the new HD DirecTivo. :( DirecTV has cut me down to 2 HD channels that I care about. Without some positive news soon … I’m going to forgo my free lifetime dvr on DirecTV ( thanks to grandfathering old Tivo owners ) … and watch hulu for a few years. 1200 bucks a year for 2 HD channels makes me sad.
I have a Tivo sticker on the back of my car but alas no fleece blanket to keep it warm. :)

take care – and thanks for sharing with the community.

  14. Thanks for the coverage. It’d be nice to have some warm coverage with that fleece blanket! Hopefully my number will be the lucky random number!

  15. If they’re smart they’ve hooked up with a major cable provider to supply not only he dvr but the channel navigation system as well.

  16. So Tivo is now selectively giving out information? Nice. I’m an investor and can’t get the IR dept. to pick up the phone.

    This company is a joke.

  17. A blanket, eh? Does that foreshadow TiVo being left out in the cold by the courts? Is this the Shroud of TiVo? We shall see?

  18. I hope they have some cool stuff in store for 2010. The Fios interface and widgets are making Tivo look more dated than ever.

  19. The TiVo HD is a great box for Comcast’s unencrypted HD and standard def. channels.

    Comcast Basic $0.00
    TiVo $6.95
    Hulu $0.00
    ================
    total monthly cost $6.95

  20. Can’t wait to hear the details of the private briefing. Would love to get the blankets and water bottle too.

  21. I’m hoping you have some good news concerning upcoming DirecTiVo boxes. I’ve been waiting since getting my new HDTV for some quality signal content, and am about to go to Time-Warner for it. And anyone who knows me know I hate Time-Warner, so that’s saying something…

  22. Pick me, pick me! ;)

“”Including a productive one of my own.””

So my delicate question is… was it productive, or VERY productive?

  23. As an original Series 1 TiVo owner, I have a special place for them in my heart. I even took the family on a little detour a couple years back on a cross country trip (a la Griswold) to their corporate offices. They were very pleasant, and even shared some swag with the kids at the end of the trip.

Now, I have all NDS made DirecTV HD DVRs in the house…but from my understanding, my wait will not be long for some TiVo love. Let’s just hope that they don’t cripple it like the last DirecTiVos. If so, then it truly is time to look at alternatives.

..if only TiVo made an HD box that could stream media from the ‘Net (Hulu, TV.com, WB, Netflix, etc.) with ease, even with another PC in the mix via TiVo Desktop.

  24. Yay TiVo stuff. Even if they haven’t been revolutionizing the DVR world they are still at the cutting edge of swag technology.

  25. Picture it: Snuggled up on the couch with a TiVo blanket, quenching my thirst with a TiVo water bottle and reading ZNF. Now that’s the stuff dreams are made of…

  26. Sometimes I feel Tivo adheres to the famous Douglas Adams phrase – “I love deadlines. I love the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by”. As a customer and investor, I hope they had something good to tell you.

And to borrow something else from Adams, the blanket would be just like the “towel” that everyone needs for me.

  27. listen, my granddaughter stole my TiVo plush doll, and even though she was only 2 at the time, i’m not happy about that. maybe a nice TiVo blanket would soothe my hurt feelings.

  28. While I’m leaving a note to get in the give away let me make a Tivo wish list/prediction: Pandora, slide out key board on remote, more emphasis on Web-based content, favorites for easy navigation (covers all content types: live TV channels, video blogs, Netflix search, etc.) , and stretch goal . . . a really cool remote with a touch screen and thumb nails pic when available.

  29. Can you roll up your notes from your meeting with TiVo and stuff them in the bottle before you send it to me:) I promise not to tell anyone!

  30. My 6-year old twins would love to cuddle up with the blanket as they watch OTA HD on our HR10-250 patiently waiting to be able to get non-OTA Directv channels in HD.

  31. Thank you for this blog. I have been with TiVo since 2000 and I hope 2010 finally brings the commercial success TiVo deserves!

Looking forward to hear what you found out.

  32. I wish TiVo would be more forthcoming about their plans… waiting in anticipation towards their “HD Pro”

  33. Here’s hoping Tivo will do what it takes to remain viable. We love Tivo at our house with two S2’s and one S3. Anxious to hear what you learned from them at CES.

  34. Can’t wait to hear the upcoming TiVo news. Ruminating about whether to build an HTPC or buy another TiVo. A Series 4 with HD UI would clinch it.

  35. Hey Zatz, the white sunglasses is “not funny,” but I can see Tivo is smiling at you…In any case, I’d like to fast forward to your Tivo report, is that feature available here?

    Cheers!

  36. Can’t wait for you to dish out what you heard from TiVo. I’m a ten-year TiVo addict you’ll probably snap up two MPEG-4 DirecTiVos as soon as possible.

  37. With a name like “TiVophile” how could you not pick me?

Thanks for the TiVo-related news and updates.

  38. Awesome site. Thanks.
Wish TiVo had actually announced something. I was there at CES and was disappointed to only see a private booth with no floor stuff.

  39. Hey Dave. Sorry I missed you at CES. I wonder if whatever Tivo comes out with will make me want to sell my two lifetime TivoHDs….Would be nice but we’ll have to see.

  40. Tivo rocks. Fleece blankets rock. Water bottles are generally lame, but two out of three ain’t bad ;)
