Moxi Home Cinema DVR Arrives! (Sort Of)

The Moxi Home Cinema HD DMR has arrived! At my place, anyway. If you’re interested in an early look at 50% of Digeo’s upcoming retail DVR duo, there may still be time to request beta access. However, you’ll be under NDA and expected to keep your lips sealed. This puppy’s hiding a few secrets… And as I get clearance, I’ll be revealing some of them.

  1. Just to be clear… If you’re in the beta group, you’re expected to keep any and all information private. My status with Digeo is unique – so do not follow my lead unless given clearance by the powers that be. Stay out of trouble. :)

  2. Hmmm. Every time I’ve been part of a beta test (which may be exactly zero times), my NDA (which may not have existed), precluded me from even revealing that I was involved in the beta test (or maybe I wasn’t).

Is this NDA different? Or, does Zatz have a special one?

  3. Bruce, my access to pre-release hardware and information is being facilitated by Digeo’s PR Director – as with most Moxi coverage I’ve provided in the past.

  4. A reasonable question and something both Megazone and I have asked repeatedly in terms of positioning this DVR model. Digeo’s also got another model in the pipeline that does indeed support CableCARDs (one M-Card) actually. I assume the interface and much of the functionality will be the same on both models, so I’m looking forward to playing with this unit (though I’m out of town next week for work, vacationing New Years weekend, and then 7 or 8 days in Vegas for CES – which is why I wouldn’t be a good beta tester).

  5. I’m looking forward to seeing some info/reviews on this unit. I signed up for the beta, but have not heard anything yet.

    Keep up the good work.

  6. This thing still has one up on the Series 2 TiVo with the unencrypted QAM tuner. Can’t wait for the CableCard version of the Moxi.
