Yes, we’ll probably need to update our hubs… but it makes unloading my remaining Echo easier.
Woohoo! Hoping for more HomeKit stuff this afternoon.
From Hue’s Facebook page “Yes, the solution we are working on will work with all your existing and new Hue lights. To get details about how your existing Philips Hue products will work with HomeKit, please follow us on Twitter or Facebook get the latest details leading up to our launch in Fall 2015.”…interesting.
Dave, why do you want to unload your echo? It already works with the Hue lights.
Dave actually sleep talks at night and in the morning he finds all kinds of packages at his front door from Amazon via Echo. ;-)
ensaburnur, that’s my point – I won’t miss it as much knowing I’ll be getting similar features via Hue and Siri.
Adam, that was funny as hell! I almost lost my breakfast!
Dave, I see what you mean. I might cancel/return my Echo when it arrives (15th). It just seems so cool to be able to turn on/off the lights without needing my phone.
It IS very cool… but in my house it’s also weird. I was controlling the family room lights from the Echo remote (vs Echo itself and builtin mics). But the Echo located in the bedroom confirms my command outloud when my wife is in bed.
Good point, I didn’t think of that. Hm, I’ll give some serious thought to cancelling my order.
