After taking heat for insufficient reparations in killing paid video downloads, Google’s reconsidered:
We’re giving a full refund — as a credit card refund — to everyone who ever bought a video. You can still keep the Google Checkout credit that you’ve received already. We’re going to continue to support playing your videos for another six months.
But what happens if a company folds without the massive (financial) resources (or desire to make amends) of a Google? Who knows. Michael Gartenberg says it best:
there’s a lot of lessons to be learned here, sadly, I suspect few folks will learn them.
