Like Ring, Arlo's getting into the video timeline scrubbing business (which is no doubt a response to Nest). pic.twitter.com/5OzLmq22tn

It’s a powerful navigation paradigm, even though it’s somewhat of a hack compared to Nest’s recording of EVERYTHING. Also looks like new Arlo Gen 5 entry level wire-free cameras – updated styling and who knows what else. Not clear yet what happens to their priceless magnetic mounting system. Hopefully that remains in play.
Wonder if their QA for this will be as great as their QA for their baby monitor iOS software — which was good enough to catch the fact that you couldn’t listen to the audio on the baby monitor — kind of an important feature!
We bought an Arlo Baby for our second child — as our current monitor, the iBaby has significant quality issues with the hardware.
Um…. Maybe I am the only one, but what is video timeline scrubbing?
Instead of grid of events at specific times, the day is presented as a horizontal timeline bar you can slide back and forth through.
And, boom, Ring just announced they will offer a 24×7 recording tier in mid-2019.
