Incredibly insensitive of Amazon to release details on the Fire TV stick after the neighborhood blew up and caught on fire. It’d be like calling it the Plane Crash Into The Alps TV stick.
Shouldn’t they consider renaming the device to the Water TV stick?
“Is the Internet giving us all ADHD?”
tl;dr
I wonder if they fixed the issue they had with Panasonic Plasma TVs, at least with the ST50 series. They had an issue with the screen flashing green after a few minutes. It made no difference if you connected the stick directly to your TV’s HDMI input or through a receiver.
Have to test this weekend, might be cheapest Windows 8.1 miracast stick!
Where is the post / details?
Jack, it’s a link-style post – the headline links to the site with the original content. I don’t use them too often because it’s obviously not always clear what’s going on and also because I block them from mobile due to a rendering issue. Didn’t have time for more this AM and he wrote it up in more depth than I would have, hence the redirect.
Daniel, I’m not 100% sure but I feel like I did still get a green screen with my updated Stick (before I sold it yesterday). Not the incessant one that breaks everything, but a brief pause on it. Not certain tho…

Course that’s assuming any hotel ever had the bandwidth to watch video over the internet between 8pm and 10pm at night.
