PlayStation iPhone App Now Available

There’s good news and bad news for Playstation-loving iPhone users. The good news is that as expected, Sony has released an official PlayStation app for iOS. The bad news is that as expected, the app doesn’t actually let you play games.

Instead, the app is a way to interact with your PlayStation account on a iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. You can sign in with your PlayStation Network ID and view your trophies, friends’ games, and online status and keep up on news about games and hardware as well as announcements from the PlayStation blog.

The PlayStation app is available as a free download from the App Store. An Android version is also in the works.

  1. Nope, itunes store still says request could not be completed. Is this even out in the US yet? I see a lot of articles saying Europe.

  2. I updated the link, Brad. Let’s keep an eye on it – I’ll change again if needed. Unfortunately, I can’t check my AT&T iPhone from this location – no signal. Verizon will set me free!

  3. Ahh, yeah it might not be available in the US store yet… I had only been looking at the web interface for iTunes. I can’t find it on my device either.

    Sorry about the confusion.

  4. I’m pretty sure this is Europe only based on the blog post about this from last month.

I think they said they might add support for the US later in the year.
