To celebrate Slacker’s updated Blackberry software, which brings support to the Verizon Storm, we’re giving away one year of Slacker Radio Plus. Like Pandora, Slacker offers free Internet music streaming to both desktop browser and mobile clients. However, a Radio Plus subscription ($3.99/mo) does away with all graphical and audio ads, plus it enables unlimited skipping and song requests. I’m a Slacker believer – their iPhone app replaced Pandora in my car once I discovered the uncensored comedy channel, in addition to all that music.

Entering this contest is as easy as it gets, simply leave a comment. (US residents only, please.) The Radio Plus service is good for any and all Slacker platforms. We’ll choose the winner at random in a few days.

  21. I’m totally with you on Slacker radio; it’s awesome. I recently took a weekend road trip (around 1000 miles) and Slacker provided music for a large portion of the trip. The audio quality over Edge/3G totally blows Pandora out of the water. I love the free service and a Plus subscription would be … awesome!

  26. DL’ed the Slacker Radio app to my Blackberry just last week. Need to do some more exploring, and a year subscription would really help with that!! :)

  63. Love my Slacker on iPhone. Today I streamed Slacker to my Radio in the car. drove from Detroit to Canada. It Rocked!!!!

  66. I hope they update the iPhone app b/c I would love the cover flow like look of the one above on the Storm. I became a subscribed member after the first day with this on my iPhone makes the work day and commute zoom by.

  78. This is a nice post to see. I have tried all of the radio-like apps I can get my hands on, and like Slacker best of all. If DJs aren’t doing any programming for radio, why not set up virtual rotations and let people tune in online. It is not only great for listeners who like to hear new music, or music hat resides outside the top of the pop. This should also serve as a call-out to DJs… make yourselves heard and prove that we still need you!
