Comcast is announcing this morning that it will distribute ESPN’s new 3D channel set to launch on June 11th. (We got the news tip from Comcast. Press release should cross the wire soon.) If you couldn’t get enough of The Masters in 3D, be ready with your glasses for World Cup action, college football season, and NBA games later in the year.
I admit I was surprised at (and impressed by) the holographic quality of the 3D Masters broadcast last month (even if Dave wasn’t). If you haven’t donned any 3D specs yet, keep an eye out for any public events showing the FIFA games in a few weeks. Given the ESPN launch, I’m guessing there will be many. Perhaps Comcast will host its own event with a 3D lobby viewing at the Philly headquarters? I’ll be looking out for my invite. ;)
So thus far, we have DirecTV and Comcast signed on?
ESPN is pretty persuasive about getting it’s content on the various providers, so will the question then become who doesn’t have ESPN3D?
