BeyondPod Podcast Manager for Android

Since picking up my Google Nexus One a few months ago, I’ve tried a number of different tools for downloading and listening to podcasts.

Google Listen is a free podcast manager from Google which makes it easy to find, subscribe to, and listen to podcasts. But I find that it’s a bit unpredictable when it comes to actually downloading the podcasts. When I fire up the app, I usually have to manually start downloading an episode before I can listen to it. And I’m amazed how often Listen will start to download a podcast only to stop after a few megabytes — something I usually don’t notice until I’m about 10 minutes into a podcast and suddenly the audio drops. I’ve also tried configuring my PC and Android phone to automatically sync podcasts from iTunes to the Nexus One. This works reasonably well, but it requires you to connect your phone to your PC regularly.

But, BeyondPod is a full featured podcast manager for Android that does pretty much everything you need on the phone itself — no PC needed. You can search for and subscribe to podcasts or import feeds from an OPML feed or from Google Reader. Read the rest of this entry »

Whoa! Wait a minute, you got a Nexus One? Which one? I assume you got the unlocked version, that supports AT&T 3G, direct from Google ( then putting your iPhone SIM in it ).

P.S. I believe this puts 100% of Team ZNF as Android users, does it not?

  2. My bad, Todd. Actually, let’s blame Chrome. I’ve had a few WordPress editor issues with it. The byline is now properly associated with Brad. If the Sprint N1 had come out a month or so ago, I’d surely own it. Not sure where it is. And the EVO looks to get official within a couple weeks. Not sure what my next move is. Sprint and T-Mobile offer much better value than AT&T, but the most and most polished apps are still for the iPhone. Decisions, decisions. :) And, yes, Mari is on Android too.

  3. I’ve been wanting something like this for the iPhone for a long time. Unfortunately RssPlayer is the closest thing, and it’s very unstable for a lot of people.

  4. Hi all ,

If you would like to try any other great Android App, the name of Android Manager Wi Fi is a good choice. You can try to get it from Google Search , the name is called ” Android Manager Wi Fi”.

It is a free and wireless Android Phone PC Sync Tool. However it only supports WiFi connection with PC. Well.
It supports synchronize my outlook contacts/calendar with my phone.

The software did manage to edit/manage/backup my photo/video and most important of all playlist. Application installation, management and backup are also easy to do!

I think it is a great Android Application , so I hereby share it with everyone.
