I discovered fairly late that the Packers/Cowboys game is available online for those of us with cable service not getting tonight’s NFL game. I’m not getting consistent streaming quality, but for the most part it’s pretty good. Definitely a workable temporary solution until the NFL Network and cable operators start being friends again.
UPDATE: Hmm. Quality deteriorating. Very annoying.
I’ve been an avid fan for 45 years and have not been able to afford to attend a live game, not to mention actually take my family.
I find it an affront to the millions of fans in my position that are the true fan base of the NFL.
These money grubbing bastards can go to hell. Stuff the NFL net work in your ass.
it is not too bad though. kind of like CBS and march madness.
I was really glad I hadn’t cancelled the DISH Network yet. The game looked awesome in HD!
Living in Madison, WI and having the NFL tell you that you’re not local enough for it to be aired on the local cable station really pisses me off. I’m not overly into sports, but I watch two teams, Packers and Badgers. I tried to watch it on nfl.com as well and the feed was pretty crappy in the beginning but got a little better. However, 90% of what I saw the hosts chatting and historical game video. It was a load of crap. Everytime the Packers had the ball they’d go to the hosts or the other video. I turned it off after 45 minutes and just listend to it on the radio.
People were flipped out here in Texas. Sure us poor people can’t watch the game over-the-air, even though the it is totally sold out…
…but even wealthy people with $100+ a month cable bills don’t get to watch it.
Whoa be to the greedy cable exec who pisses off some the cable subscriber who just happens to be a sharky trial lawyer/Cowboys fan.
so i won my bet on the cowboys to beat the cowboys. well my fansty team was off the chart after that game thank u cows. i am a banwanger i HHHHHHAAAAAATTTTTEEEE TTTTTHHHHHEEEEEE PPPPAAACCCCKKKKEEERRRSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
I never understand why people get so mad at the NFL (or ESPN for that matter) for not having access to a out of market game. It’s not like they want you to pay extra to watch your local team.
that was a good game played i will give the packers that
shut the hell up ben
This whole mess is because the NFL network thinks it should be a basic tier channel, like TBS or Nickelodeon. I think it’s kind of crappy that they instituted Thursday night games for the SOLE PURPOSE of promoting their crappy network, then blame cable operators who don’t want to pass on the extra cost of putting a network — that’s only useful one night a week in the fall — on their basic tier.
They should have put crappy matchups on their crappy network for their crappy marketing ploy. ;)

I’m sorry, being in Madison, WI I do consider the Packers my LOCAL team. Same as the Wisconsin Badgers, their stadium is oh, 4 miles from my house? The whole local market area is very screwed up on how they determine who is and who isn’t in the local market IMO.

It used to be on the basic tier here, then Comcast moved it to a sports package. Wonder if that corresponds to the NFL Network per subscriber rate hike?
It’s too bad the Pack lost!
WE DID GOOD THAT GAME
