Fitbit Inspire HR Hands On

As is often the case, I buy each new Fitbit … and invariably end up disappointed. Yet the Fitbit Inspire HR, which I uncovered last year as a likely Alta successor, strikes a nice balance between form, function, and price. And I’m digging it. In fact, for most, it may be a better option than the more pricey Charge 3. Unlike the Alta, it’s waterproof! And packs the best Fitbit charger ever – a clasp-free, magnetic mount similar to some smartwatches like the Apple Watch.

However, there’s a catch as, at the moment, it’s only available through Fitbit corporate partnerships — think employers and health insurers, sometimes free, sometimes subsidized. I picked mine up from a guy in Florida and, who knows, maybe his employer has been fairly impressed with my step count and resting heart rate.
