CEA to Woo Gadget Lovers with Membership

The Consumer Electronics Association has long been the domain of CE companies willing to fork over the cash for membership. But that may all be about to change. The CEA is starting a new membership tier for Consumer Technology Enthusiasts (CTE). So-called “enthusiasts” will soon have the opportunity to sign up as individuals and receive CEA benefits like event discounts and research reports. No word yet on pricing, but yearly dues are $350 for companies with under $25 million in annual revenue. Presumably individuals will slide in for significantly less. From the CEA site:

Are you a fan of all things technology? Would you like to be a part of the association promoting the growth of innovation and technology? Become a Consumer Technology Enthusiast (CTE) member of CEA!

Maybe Dave and I can grab a break on our costs for CES in 2011…
