SOCOM got me. For the first time in this decade, I’ve pre-ordered a video game. It runs $5 at Gamestop, but provides access to the public beta – ahead of SOCOM: Confrontation‘s October 14th release. I opted for the $60 bundle which will include the official Playstation 3 Bluetooth headset. While most BT headsets probably work fine, this model integrates a gamer-friendly mute button with onscreen status. (Frankly, Sony should provide a basic headset of some sort in the PS3 box. As the folks from Redmond do.)
