Want a Rdio Invite?

While I’ve yet to really dig in, Rdio looks to be a cool, new music service supporting various web and mobile playback options. In fact, Rdio seems like something we’d get if unReal Rhapsody was re-conceptualized and modernized with a little Web 2.0 and a whole lot of mobile.

In addition to the typical playlist building and streaming you’d expect, Rdio has one especially clever feature built in such a way that the company shouldn’t incur the wrath of any music gods. Their optional Adobe Air desktop software will scan your iTunes or Windows Media Player library for songs you currently posses, and populate your online Rdio collection (from their source files). Meaning the music you already purchased is now available just about anywhere.

Rdio starts off with a free 3 day trial, which can be extended for another 10 days with a credit card (which is where I’m at). Beyond that, you have a choice of two subscriptions: (click to enlarge)

Given my current XM Online and Slacker subscriptions, along with my delegation of playlist creation (to them), I’m unlikely to make a jump anytime soon. But Rdio is off to a great start. And, thanks to the kindness of geekaren, I’ve got 10 beta Rdio invites to give out. Leave a comment if you want in.
