Mostly unrelated to separable security, but another interesting nugget... Charter now owns ActiveVideo who demonstrated to me the TiVo experience streamed from the cloud and displayed on a Roku. I've got a video somewhere. May dig that up and get it posted. Key word being may, it's archived on an external drive somewhere.
Could this "Worldbox" possibly be the same or similar to what will be our new retail "TiVo Bolt", or a very close cousin? It does say it's a "hybrid IP/QAM device", which seems to maybe be consistent with some Bolt rumors.
I don't imagine there is a connection between Worldbox and TiVo. Just the software separable security module. Don't know if it also requires something like a hardware TPM chip, but it's probably too soon for Bolt integration even if it can be done down the road. Especially with the various players still working on a proposal for the FCC, to next convene 8/28.
