Alaskan Cable Co GCI Taking TiVo Reservations

TiVo’s strategy of empowering second and third tier US cable providers continues to bear fruit as GCI is now collecting names for what looks like a brewing DVR launch:

Thanks for your interest in GCI TV powered by TiVo! Please fill out this form and we’ll be back in touch with you when this exciting new service is ready for you. GCI TV powered by TiVo will initially be available in Anchorage, Chugiak, Girdwood, Eagle River, Wasilla and Palmer.

GCI’s imagery appears to be sourced from the same photoshoot displayed on TiVo’s recent home page update and shows a TiVo Premiere, TiVo Stream, and iPads in action. However, unlike TiVo partner Suddenlink, there is no mention or pics of the TiVo Mini extender. As one may imagine, the Netflix app doesn’t appear to be offered via GCI’s upcoming TiVo package, but YouTube, Amazon VOD, Pandora and GCI On Demand are featured – although monthly fees have not yet been revealed… beyond promises of a free install.

(Thanks Sam!)
