  1. Makes sense, TV sales are unprofitable and they don’t turn over quick. Make a powerful box that people can easily use with their own TV makes much more sense.

  2. If true, you gotta wonder why people keep citing Gene Munster. I want a job where I’m rewarded for making crap up on a regular basis. ;)

  3. 100,000,000% Zatz. It’s never made any sense: there’s nothing wrong with the actual monitors, which are essentially dumb terminals controlled by an external box.

And yet there’s no shortage of soapboxes for people who want to imagine what an Apple TV might look like.

So much of which feels like a variation of Harry Potter Fan Fiction.

  4. He’s a stock analyst. I guess he gets paid for making the stock go up or down and getting the company clients and getting their name in the news and crap. Probably succeeds in doing all that even though he appears to be a total dumbass.

“Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster suggested in November 2012 that the iTV would come out a year later, in November of 2013. Wrong. Earlier in 2012 Munster was calling for Apple to announce the Apple television in December, then the first half of 2013, but he was proved totally wrong before changing his estimate to 2014.”

I wonder if people actively snicker on the call when Gene comes on to ask the same damn question every quarter?
