Photo Fun at CES

CES is over for another year, but the photos live on. There was the minion who visited the blogger lounge, the Panasonic sand sculpture, and the masses of entirely non-goofy-looking people wearing 3D glasses. I also snapped a pic of a dude named Mo, who was selling solar chargers in the middle of the night at the Venetian (doesn’t he know the sun there is fake?), and swiped a photo from Liliputing of me and Brad Linder posing at the Digital Experience event. Good times.

  1. I’m with Verizon media relations.

The Minion you shot is of course from the movie Despicable Me. What is not seen due to the table is a sign that indicates Despicable Me is now available on Verizon’s FiOS TV service via FlexView, a nifty free service that allows consumers to buy or rent content, and then watch it on their TV, their laptop or their tablet or smartphone. There’s a growing base of Verizon FlexView content now offered and is a great service for extending FiOS TV outside the boundaries of the home.

The #1 asked question of the Minion at CES: “Is that a robot?” No. It’s a human inside.

#2 asked question: Can I touch his hair? No please. There’s a human inside.

#3 asked question: Can I get Verizon FiOS TV in (CITY?) And of course we all answered the folks based on where they live.

Thanks for taking a photo of the Universal Studios character. The man inside the outfit is going to be on the NBC show, “The Cape” this season… not as a Minion but as a short man.

  2. Bill- Love the questions asked. I did assume it was a man inside, but little did I know he was a TV star all on his own.

Yes, we’re familiar with FlexView here. See our coverage on What If FiOS TV Was an App.
