Amazon HDMI Cables On Sale Today

The already well-priced Amazon Basics HDMI cables see a discount today. They’re rated for the 1.4 spec – supporting 4k and ARC. And should be fine with everything else as well. The cables come in various lengths, ranging from 3′ to 25′ and I was motivated to pick up four more in a 3′ pair and a 6.5′ pair.

  1. So. Somewhat off topic, but…

I’m about to buy a bunch of batteries, and I noticed you recently bought Amazon Basics batteries. Now, I’m all in favor of Amazon Basics cables like these. But batteries? I do hate changing batteries, so I’ve always bought the premium brand names for a few extra bucks, thinking they’d last longer.

In short, is your preference for Amazon Basics batteries purely random guesswork, or do you have some basis for thinking they really are roughly equivalent to premium brands?

  2. Random guesswork… but I assume they won’t perform or last as well as premium versions of name brands. Probably equivalent to Duracel’s Procell line. Some of them were for baby items I don’t expect we’ll need for more than a few months – like a seat that needed 1 D battery for a soothing vibration effect.

  3. The amazon basics rechargeables are actually rebranded eneloops. I would highly recommend them. I have bought both he white and the black, and they have both been great for me. I have also used real eneloops, so I can compare them, and they seem to work pretty equally. But don’t take my word for it, do some googleing, there is some stupid crazy research to back up the rebranded claim.

Thanks for the info. And I do take your word for it. But, unfortunately, I’m not in the market for rechargeables. (And yes. You can tell me it’s silly to power my laptop via handy 9v disposables all you want. But I can’t hear you.)

Now, if they were rebranding hi-end alkaline disposables

  5. My Comcast store gives 6 ft hdmi cords for free (along with Ethernet and coax ). I just walk up to the check in desk and they give me whatever I want. They don’t even look up my account or ask any questions. I have no idea if this is local policy or the same everywhere, but works every time.

  6. Hey according to the HDMI people, a high-speed HDMI cable is a high-speed HDMI cable. If the connection on both ends supports HDMI 2.0 then these cables should provide the necessary bandwidth.
